NeckCare System™
With over 20 years of research, the NeckCare System™ allows healthcare professionals to perform objective assessments of range of motion, proprioception, and sensorimotor control.
Range of Motion

The Range of Motion exam is used to assess mobility of the cervical spine. The patient is asked to move into their maximum position for the selected movements. Range of motion can be tested for flexion, extension, left/right rotation, and left/right lateral flexion.
Joint Position Error

The Joint Position Error test is used to assess proprioception (joint position sense) of the cervical spine. The patient is asked to close their eyes, then attempts to relocate to their starting, neutral head position after active movement. Joint position error can be tested from flexion, extension, and left/right rotation.
The Butterfly Test

The Butterfly Test was designed to assess sensorimotor control of the cervical spine. The patient attempts to follow a moving target on the computer screen, as accurately as possible, with a cursor controlled by the head-mounted sensor. The target moves at an unpredictable velocity along three predetermined trajectories, easy, medium, and hard, that are invisible to the patient.

The Butterfly Test is extensively researched and has been shown to differentiate between asymptomatic individuals and those with neck pain, whiplash injuries, and concussions.
